What are the odds? To be told by the specialists that, after several medical tests had been run, we were most likely in the ten percent of couples who would be unable to conceive a child, then to give birth to a single child ( a son) followed twenty months later by a beautiful set of twins (a daughter and another son)? Then what are the odds of having a second set of twins twenty months later and for that set to also be fraternal boy/ girl? Let me tell you, the odds are not high. Our family has been uniquely blessed! We are busy, but we enjoy every minute of the time we have together. Swimming in our pool, being actively involved in our church, vacationing with family and friends are typical activities that we as well as many other families enjoy. However, our uniqueness doesn’t end with the size of our family; unfortunately, the odds on this one did not fall in our favor. Statistically, our children had a twenty five percent chance of inheriting a genetic disease (one that neither Rob nor I knew we were carriers for). In December of 2008 three of our five children were diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. Now we are asking that you help us beat the odds. Help us to find the cure!
